Before Arrival

Apply from India via VFS Global. You need 3 weeks for standard processing, or 5 business days for Priority.

Proof of English language

IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent (6.5+ typically required)

Academic qualifications

Certificates, transcripts for previous education

Bank statements (6 months)

Showing funds for tuition + living costs (typically £15,000–£30,000 depending on location)

Sponsor letter

If parents/guardian funding, letter confirming financial support

Loan documents

If taking education loan, bank/lender letter

Online visa form (submitted)

Completed on UK Visas & Immigration website

•Scan every document to a secure cloud folder before you travel (Google Drive, OneDrive)
•Keep physical copies of important documents (passport, BRP, acceptance letter) in a secure envelope
•BRP collection must happen within 10 business days of visa approval — don't delay!
•Register with NHS as soon as you arrive — healthcare is free but you must be registered
•Open your bank account in the first week — many student discounts require a UK bank account
•Request Council Tax exemption letter from your university to avoid bills
•Apply for Graduate Route before your Student visa expires — no extensions available
